Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Soado Boards, a service for creating group cards and message boards. By creating an account, creating a board or posting a message, you agree to them.

Using the Service

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to use Soado Boards. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

Accounts

You need an account to create a board. You do not need one to post a message on someone else's board.

  • Give a valid email address when you register. It is the only way we can confirm that an account is yours.
  • Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • We do not send automatic emails, including password resets. If you lose access, write to us from the account's email address.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, defamatory or sexually explicit;
  • impersonate someone else or mislead people about who you are;
  • post personal information about other people without a valid reason;
  • send spam, or post messages by automated means;
  • attempt to disrupt the service, get around its protections, or access data that is not yours;
  • use the service for any illegal purpose.

Our User-Generated Content Policy describes the content rules in more detail and forms part of these terms.

Content

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the service, as set out in the User-Generated Content Policy.

You are responsible for what you post, including photos and anything you write about other people.

Boards and their owners

The person who creates a board controls it. The owner can:

  • edit the board, close it to new messages and delete it;
  • require messages to be approved before they appear;
  • hide, edit, reorder and delete messages on the board;
  • present the board in display modes and export it.

If you post on a board, the owner decides whether and how your message is shown.

Boards are shared by link. Anyone who has the link can read the published messages and, while the board is open, add one. Board owners are responsible for who they share the link with.

Limits

  • A message can contain up to 500 characters and one image.
  • Images must be JPEG, PNG or WebP files of 2 MB or less, and only on boards whose owner allows images.
  • We may apply other reasonable limits to keep the service available to everyone.

Removing content

We may remove or hide content, close boards, or suspend accounts when we believe these terms or the law are being broken. Where we reasonably can, we will tell the person concerned why.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how you can exercise your rights. If you create a board, you are responsible for having a valid reason to share the personal information and photos that you and your contributors put on it.

Availability and Changes to the Service

We work to keep Soado Boards available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may carry out maintenance, and we may change or remove features.

If we ever plan to close the service, we will announce it on the website in advance so that owners can export their boards.

Ending Your Use

You can stop using the service at any time. Board owners can delete their boards themselves. To delete your account, write to [email protected] from the account's email address; see the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. For serious or repeated breaches we may do so without notice.

Disclaimer and Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will meet your particular needs.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of data, or loss resulting from content posted by users. Keep your own copy of anything important, for example by exporting your board.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or intentional fault, or the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, when a change is significant, announce it on the website before it takes effect. If you continue to use the service after that date, the updated terms apply to you.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes are brought before the courts of Brussels, unless the law of the country where you live as a consumer gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
