User-Generated Content Policy

This policy covers everything people put on Soado Boards: board titles and descriptions, messages, names and signatures, and photos. It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read with our Privacy Policy.

Soado Boards is operated by montoyer.be, rue Montoyer, Brussels, Belgium.

What Counts as User-Generated Content

• Board titles and descriptions
• Messages and the name or signature posted with them
• Photos and images uploaded with a message
• Logos, banners and taglines added to a board or an account

Ownership

You keep ownership of what you create and post.

You are responsible for having the right to post it. That includes text, photos and artwork made by others, and anything that shows or describes other people.

The Permission You Give Us

To run the service, you give Soado Boards a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, format and display your content, only as needed to:

• show it on the board it was posted to, including in display modes and exports made by the board owner;
• keep the service secure and backed up;
• moderate content and apply our policies;
• look into abuse or legal complaints.

We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it.

This permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies that remain in backups for a limited time or that we must keep for legal reasons.

Your Responsibilities

When you post, you confirm that:

• the content is yours, or you have permission to use it;
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
• it complies with the law and with this policy.

If you post personal information or a photo of someone else, you must have a valid reason and any consent the law requires. Group cards usually concern a colleague, friend or relative, so think about what that person would be comfortable with.

Content Rules

Do not post content that:

• is illegal, fraudulent or deliberately misleading;
• is defamatory, abusive, threatening, hateful or harassing;
• encourages violence, self-harm, terrorism or crime;
• is pornographic or sexually exploitative;
• infringes copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
• impersonates someone or misrepresents who you are;
• contains malware or attempts to disrupt the service;
• reveals sensitive personal information without authorization;
• is spam, advertising or a scam.

What Board Owners Control

The person who creates a board controls it. An owner can:

• close the board so that no new messages can be added;
• require each message to be approved before it appears;
• hide, edit, reorder and delete messages;
• delete the board, which removes its messages and photos.

A board's link cannot be withdrawn once shared. Closing a board stops new messages, but people who have the link can still read it. To make a board unreachable, delete it.

Being a board owner does not put a board outside this policy. We can still review and remove content on any board.

If You Posted a Message

• If your message is linked to an account, you can edit or delete it yourself from your account.
• If you posted without an account, ask the board owner to remove or correct it, or write to us at [email protected] with the board link and the name you signed with.

Moderation

We do not review content before it is published, and we are not required to monitor boards. When we become aware of content that appears to break this policy, our Terms of Service or the law, we may hide or remove it, close the board, or suspend the account responsible.

Where we reasonably can, we will tell the person concerned what we did and why. If you think a decision was wrong, reply to that message or write to [email protected] and we will look at it again.

Reporting Content

Boards do not have a report button yet. To report content, write to [email protected] with:

• the link to the board;
• which message or image you are reporting;
• why you believe it should be reviewed or removed;
• how we can contact you.

For a copyright complaint, also tell us which work is concerned and confirm that you are the rights holder or act for them.

We read every report and act on those that are well founded.

Legal Requests

We may keep or disclose content and related information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to apply our policies, protect users or respond to a legal claim.

Who Can See a Board

Boards are shared by link and are not listed in a public directory. Anyone who has the link can read the published messages and, while the board is open, add one.

Do not post anything you would not want every person with the link to see.

Deletion and Retention

Deleting a message removes it and its photo. Deleting a board removes its messages, photos, reactions and statistics.

Deleted content can remain in backups for a limited time before being overwritten. Our Privacy Policy explains how long personal data is kept.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, when a change is significant, announce it on the website before it takes effect.
